LATE 50'S

I TOOK THAT BUS TO COLUMBUS ONE SUMMER WITH A FRIEND OF MINE (OUR PARENTS DIDN'T KNOW). WE SPENT THE DAY AT LAZARUS DOWN TOWN COLUMBUS. WE WORE OUR BEST CLOTHES , (WHICH WE CHANGED INTO AFTER WE LEFT OUR HOMES. ) ALSO, ATE LUNCH AT LAZARUS THEN CAME HOME AND NEVER DID GET CAUGHT. THAT IS WHERE I BOWLED ON SAT. MORNINGS IN THE MIDDLE {TIME WISE } OF MAKING THE COLLECTIONS FOR MY PAPER ROUTE..     I used to go down to the Greyhound station just to see people come and go and to snort the diesel fumes, which reminded me of travel.

    I went alone from south Mississippi to Chattanooga when I was twelve and stayed with relatives for a week, being called home when my grandmother died.
