Sky Watch Friday in Lancaster,Ohio (a story of Grace)

CHURCHPROJECT2

NEW CHURCH: After the service a young couple talked to a church member about joining the church. He hadn't met the husband before, and he asked what church he was transferring from. After a short hesitation, he replied,"I am transferring from the Municipal Golf Course." (SOUNDS LIKE ME)

churchproject3

CHURCH INSTRUCTION: A Sunday school teacher asked the children just before she dismissed them to go to church, "And why is it necessary to be quiet in church?"Annie replied, "Because people are sleeping."

PROJECT4

Stop by Sky Watch Friday  to view skies from all over the world.

100_3114  BIBLE LESSON: A Sunday School teacher asked her class why Joseph and Mary took Jesus with them to Jerusalem. A small child replied: "They couldn't get a baby sitter."

project5 There may be a lot of problems in the world today but at least Romans  aren’t throwing Christians to the lions.

SPIREPROJECT1

I believe the world is God’s tapestry. The sky is His loom and the clouds, sun, rain, moon, and stars  are some of the threads He uses to weave his tapestry of Grace. (Joe Todd 2009)

Lovely skies and steeples, and I loved the church jokes, being a churchie person myself.

True story: We were visiting my parents' church and saw this in the order of worship: "Silent medication." And this church had a preponderance of senior citizens.

I like these pictures. I have always liked looking at church buildings. I once considered a series of posting pictures of different churches on my blog. Even some of the newer buildings have a lot of beauty.

Enjoyed all the spires with skies behind--and the jokes as well. I saw a bumper sticker not long ago that I found snarkily amusing: Christians welcome; my lions are hungry. That's probably only funny if you live in the bible belt, where every knock on the front door (friends know to come to the side door) is a solicitation to join one or another local church. I have to admit to a certain amount of sympathy toward the guy sporting the remark. But I do like church architecture (today's lecture, in fact, was on late Renaissance and Baroque basilicas), so thanks for the interesting collection.

What a fun post! I love the skies and steeples, and what you say about the sky being God's loom.

It sounds like you are having fun at the fest. I used to go to bluegrass festivals.

Thanks for visiting my SkyWatch post.

I enjoyed the music and found your analogy of the world being God's tapestry such a wonderful thought.

Thanks for wishing Christine good luck. I'll be sure to tell her and congrats to your son on two successful tours to Iraq. That is a big deal!
