Taking Route 22 east out of Lancaster,Ohio one passes one of the remaining outdoor theaters The Skyview drive in theater
As a youth I spent many enjoyable evenings at the SKYVIEW but I don’t remember watching the movies. Next take a right on route 37 then a right on Lake Rd. and you may want to stop at Berne Station for some “refreshment”
“In 1907, Bremen, Ohio, was considered Oil City”
After the Oil boom of the 1920’s many of Bremen’s citizens returned to agriculture
Well we are almost there but a must stop is PUMPKIN VINE GOLF COURSE
Finally, I get to Bremen,Ohio but after 18 holes of golf I’m getting pretty tired. So I will have to finish this post at a later date. Some refreshment first:
Ms. Wolfe served a foot long hot dog and soft drink for $3.00 (Not Bad)
Make sure to stop by SkyWatchFriday to see some beautiful skies.
What a fun bit of nostalgia ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Oh, yes, what a fun look back! And beautiful skies to go with it!!
ReplyDeleteI have thought of renting out space on the deck because we do have a terrific view, but I'm afraid the dogs would get jealous!
Have a great weekend!
Sylvia
Beautiful skies to say the least, great post.

We have one outdoor movie theater left in our area. It might be the only one in the state. I haven't been to it in about 15 years. I just drove past it a couple of days ago and was missing it.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, and lovely skies there in Ohio.
ReplyDeleteJoe: That was a fun trip to Bremen with some neat skies. Can't wait to see the rest of the travels through amish country.
ReplyDeleteGreat trip---thanks for being the tour guide. MB
ReplyDeleteI'm getting a real feel for your part of the world Joe!
ReplyDeleteI have never been to a drive in movie, there weren't any in New Zealand where I grew up. Thank you for some wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteThough there aren't any drive-ins where I live now, I remember seeing "The Singing Nun" at one when I was a child, great memories. You take beautiful pictures. Thanks for stopping by my blog to see my sky picture (actually my moon picture).
ReplyDeleteHave a good day.
Wonderful skies and a nice trip through your city and area ! Very creative way to show this.
ReplyDeleteI've got a couple of good drive-in stories, too. :-) Too bad most of them have disappeared from the landscape.
ReplyDeleteGreat post. Have a wonderful weekend.
Cool pictures, I really enjoyed your blog.
ReplyDeleteI remember going to the drive-in. My city doesn't have them any more and I haven't seen an oil well for a long time. Good thing there are still golf courses. Beautiful sky pictures!
