THIS IS A:: THAT’S MY WORLD TUEDAY POST. Check out the whole world with just a few clicks
SEPTEMBER 18, 19 & 20, 2009 Adults Admission $7.00, FREE PARKING! In the beautiful rolling hills of Ohio near Columbus,Ohio and Lancaster,Ohio. (I know it’s over for this year but this is a yearly event)
Now let’s head over to the Pre-1840 Encampment Area. Where we will meet Pat,Dee,Gus and Linda.
I thought the young woman throwing the tomahawk was pretty cute, but I wasn’t going to get “fresh.”
Gus and Linda invited us to take a look inside their Tipi .Looks pretty comfortable to me.
“Modern tipi covers are usually made of canvas. Contemporary users of tipis include historical reenactors, back-to-the-land devotees, and Native American families attending Powwows or Encampments who wish to preserve and pass on a part of their heritage and tradition.” (thanks wikipedia) I wonder could a little rain come in the top of that Tipi?
My suggestion for lunch would be the homemade vegetable soup in the bread bowl or the barbecued chicken. All cooked over “open fire”
You won’t go away hungry………………………………..
TIME FOR A LITTLE MUSIC and CRAFTS
Love that Bluegrass music, songs about day-to-day life experiences. The bottom two photos feature “Caney Creek” They will be playing Thursday’s 7Pm to 9Pm at Brenda Sue’s east of Hebron Ohio on Rt. 40 Yee-Haw
(We brought one of those baskets home)
There are so many interesting sights to show so…(47 slides if you have the time a good overview of the entire festival)
I would like for you to meet: Tammy and Dave Stull from Sunbury,Ohio
They have Olive Oil Dips,Veggie Dips.and Dessert Dips. They are Heavenly Dips. My favorite is the Royal Hawaiian. Take the time to stop by their website you won’t be disappointed.

I agree about canoe bear -- I would like to take it home with me!
What a fun event! We have re-enactments at Fort Vancouver several times a year. I just went to one with lanterns at night. They will have a special one at Thanksgiving and Christmas too.
Looks like everyone had fun and plenty to eat. The reenactors would be interesting to see. thanks for sharing the event!
Canoe bear was just one of many crafts for sale at the festival. He almost came home with us. Maybe next time

Hugs and blessings,
That looks like an amazing place! Sorry about the hornets in your yard. Those are nasty beggers. And even worse because they burrough in the ground, often finding them once you've stepped in the nest - ACK!
Looks like great fun - food was mouthwatering!
You sure find the interesting spots! Thanks so much for letting us tag along with you!
