From the internet says “Author Unknown.” I received in an Email from J.R. (Thanks J.R.)
When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound will still be there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.
Please forgiveme if I have ever left a ' hole ' in your fence. Joe Todd
The photo of the Oak Tree was taken at Chestnut Ridge Metro Park. Then I used a free program “FotoSketcher” to get the effects in the second picture.
I will leave you with this thought, “A White Pickett Fence has no nails or nail holes.” Maybe something to strive for?
Wonderful post and photos, Joe!
ReplyDeletevery neat - I espesially like the snow effect in the tree photo!
ReplyDeleteJoe, a side note on your blog.
As you know I have been visiting here for a while, I noticed that your page now loads much slower than before. The paramic on the right hand side, and the mp3 in the post in particular took a long time to load.
Do you ever use web admin tools? They who the diagram with performance of the page loading. And if it is too slow google indexing skips pages, so that is not good for your blog.
Try experimenting by removing some things that are not as important as others and see if you notice an improvement. The tools show you when they consider the page to be too slow (there is a line above which they think marked slow). They also give a percentage of speed relative to other blogs, so you can see how your page compare to others.
Hi Joe, That one tree is trying really hard to hang onto its leaves, isn't it???? Wonder if it stays warmer that way??? We have a few of those trees around here too... The old leaves drop off when the new ones come in...
ReplyDeleteGreat thought about being careful what you do or say... I like thinking also of squeezing the toothpaste out of the tube. Once it comes out, you can put it back in. We all need to be careful what we do and say.

Thanks Quilt Works. Made several changes and seems to load much faster. I always appreciate hearing about and learning new ways to make my blog better
ReplyDeleteVery nice photo of the tree and I like the frame too, but it is the words of the story that linger and for some reason it makes me cry. It is also very true. And something most of us don't stop to think about.
ReplyDeleteCheers.

Joe: So well told, what a neat story.
ReplyDeleteIt is fun to see what you have done with this photo.
ReplyDeleteWords are powerful. It is good to have the goal of connecting with one another, then we speak differently.
...words to live by, Joe.
ReplyDeleteA verbal wound is not only "as bad," but worse, I think, than a physical one. We all need to learn not only not to inflict that kind of pain, but to forgive as well, for "it is in forgiving that we are forgiven."
I heard that someplace. ;-)
These are wonderful shots. I love what you do. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this wonderful story. Thanks, too, for the picture of the tree. I'm guessing that it's a pin oak. They seem to hold onto their leaves the longest.
ReplyDeleteExcellent story Joe. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteNice story with amazing pictures, Glad to be here.
ReplyDeleteMy Family Daily Adventure
This is the most beautiful post and story I've read for a long time.
ReplyDeleteWe always forget about how much words can hurt and this is a good reminder, thank you Joe for the lovely words.
I really like this story. I have a 13 year old nephew who could build a fence that reaches clear across Michigan.
ReplyDeleteI love your winter montage! We had 6 inches of snow last night - and its the sticky kind, so I think sledding and snow making will be popular today.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, pretty speedy today! :-)
Happy Monday!
I like the oak tree :)
ReplyDeleteYes, God is Awesome.. such beautiful sceneries of nature He has created..
ReplyDeletegreetings from Claire www.reanaclaire.com
