SKY WATCH FRIDAY in Lancaster,Ohio where it has been pretty difficult to find anything blue. Please take the time to click on the link to visit beautiful skies from all around the world.
(TIME FOR A SHORT HIKE IN THE WOODS AND A NAP UNDER THE TREES. A GOOD TIME TO JUST LOOK AT THE SKIES.)
TIME FOR A NAP
LOOKS LIKE A STORM IS COMING. IS THERE ANYWHERE TO SEEK SHELTER?
AS A YOUNGSTER I USED TO “LIVE IN THESE WOODS” AND I COULD ACTUALLY CRAWL INSIDE THE CAVE. A SMALL CAMPFIRE A COUPLE HOTDOGS AND SOMETHING TO DRINK AND I WAS ALL SET. REALLY DOES LOOK LIKE THE WEATHER IS CHANGING. I WONDER WHAT TOMORROW WILL BRING.
How lucky you were to have such beautiful woods to play in as a child! I wasn't "allowed" because my mother believed there were escaped convicts in our woods. There was one once, but the end result was a sorely deprived childhood!
ReplyDeleteYou sound about as fed up with these gray skies as I am! LOL! Glad you were finally able to see some blue and enjoy a hike in the woods.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking us along on your hike Joe. Love that little cave! What it like inside?
ReplyDeleteHi Joe, Looks like you had a great walk on a gorgeous day. We are having a fabulous time in Arkansas --and our weather has been nice here also.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.

Oh, I always wanted to have woods to play in!! But I grew up in a small town in west Texas that did well to to have tumbleweeds! So this looks fabulous to me!! Love the shots of the bare trees against the blue skies!! Wonderful shots, Joe! Sorry your gray came back so quickly!! Have a great weekend!

Woods to play in - that's why when my Hubs and I retired a couple of years ago we bought five acres. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely shots!
I especially like the first one and the cave shot.
Mine’s here: Carletta’s Captures.
It looks lile a beautiful area, that first shot is gorgeous with the shadows.
ReplyDeleteFantastic captures. Love the colors.
ReplyDeleteThe woods look wonderful, I can see why a small boy would have fun there. The cave would be very tempting too. I like the red frames - they really make the pictures stand out.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend,
Cheers.

Wonderful set of sky photos, Love the little cave too.
ReplyDeleteJoe, I used to do about the same thing. We have lot's of wooded area's around here, but there was that special place that I used to play in. It's still there, but just doesn't look the same. That cave you have pictured would be interested to see what's in there. Might be something that you don't want to encounter.
ReplyDeleteAt least you don't seem to have a lot of snow in the woods! I love the golden light on the rocks surrounding the cave!
ReplyDeletePRO TIP: Don't climb trees for a nap Joe - hope this helps
ReplyDeleteBlue skies? I must have slept through that minute. LOL! You did not move away did you Joe? Today it is back to our permanent sight of white.Hope it doesn't keep you and Linda away from the Garden Show. By the time I go next weekend I hope it is better weather.
ReplyDeleteWe had caves of all kinds around here to play in when we were kids. Oh, what fun days.
The cave is very shallow as far as I know is not habitated by any animals. As a kid we did have a turkey vulture trapped in a much smaler cave for awhile. Boy did we move fast when the vulture made his escape
ReplyDeleteThese are incredible. Dramatic. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous pictures, Joe! When I was little, I was mischievous and I'd go play in the woods nearby where there were caves and pretend I was a lost princess who needed rescuing. What made it so bad is that I wasn't supposed go into the woods. Needless to say, my joy in playing there didn't last long once my dad found me. :P
ReplyDeleteBlue skies will be coming more and more as we get closer to spring. Think of all the glorious pictures you will be taking then.
God bless you and thank you for sharing all these beautiful pictures with us!
