THEN LINDA AND I MET AN ARCHAEOLOGIST FROM THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY HIKING IN THE AREA. AND HE TOLD US, “MAKE SURE YOU SEE THE INDIAN MILLSTONE.” WITH A LITTLE HUNTING WE FOUND:
INDIANS used millstone functionality to process grains, nuts and other vegetable food products for consumption. how would you like to process grain in a hole made in blackhand sandstone?
I REALLY LIKE THIS WATERFALL. DO YOU THINK THE FALLEN TREE LOOKS LIKE A MAN STANDING IN THE FALLS?
LINDA KEPT TELLING ME IT WAS TIME TO GO
BUT I WOULD NOT STOP LOOKING AROUND. SURE GETS DARK AT THE BOTTOM OF THE GORGE. I’M VERY GLAD THERE WAS A FULL MOON. LOL
AS ALWAYS THANKS FOR STOPPING BY and Do-da-da-go-hv-i. (In the Cherokee language there is no word for "good-bye"; instead, there is Do-nv-da-go-hv-i), meaning "until we meet again."
IF YOU HAVE THE TIME/INCLINATION THIS IS A NEAT VIDEO.

Nice hike! I'm with Linda though -- I want to be home when the sun starts going down. That tree does look like a person down there. I've seen those grinder rocks in places where we've been -- it really does make you think about how hard people used to work.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and fantastic shots !!Loved the Natural beauty !!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great hike, Joe! Marvelous captures! Love looking up at the sky through the trees! The tree does look like a man/person. The grinder rocks are really interesting -- hope we all appreciate how good we have it these days!! Have a wonderful weekend.!

Hi Joe, Love the sky pictures at Rockstall... Your trees are getting LEAVES now. Yeah!!!
ReplyDeleteThat one tree you pictured is amazing... WOW!!!!

Great pictures, Joe. I haven't seen a view up through the trees like that since the last time I got too drunk to walk and had to lie on my back on the ground. Of course, pretty soon I had to throw up (something to do with the clouds spinning round and round), so I thought it wise to get off my back and onto my side.
ReplyDeleteHey says the stick man, can't a man have some privacy when he is having a shower?
ReplyDeleteI always want to stand under the waterfall.
Tree are amazing how they hang on in precarious places.
ReplyDeleteYou always have some fantastic views! Thanks for sharing them with us!
