JUST A FEW MILES FROM LANCASTER,OHIO IN THE BEAUTIFUL HOCKING HILLS AREA OF OHIO WE HAVE ROCKSTALL NATURE PRESERVE. EVEN THOUGH I HAVE LIVED IN LANCASTER MOST OF MY LIFE THIS IS MY FIRST TRIP TO THIS NATURE PRESERVE.
NOTICE IT SAYS NO ROCK CLIMBING. WELL THAT’S PRETTY FUNNY. WAIT TIL YOU SEE THE “STEPS” YOU HAVE TO GO DOWN. THIS AREA IS OFTEN REFERED TO AS A MINIATURE OLD MANS CAVE
GOING DOWN WAS EASIER THAN COMING BACK UP.. LOL
MINIATURE WATERFALLS
TAKE A LOOK AT THESE STEPS
SEE THE STEPS, THE SWITCHBACK AND NOTICE THE DROP TO THE BOTTOM. WHAT CAME TO MY MIND WAS, “MAYBE I SHOULDN’T BE HERE BY MYSELF.”
ON TO THE SECOND FALLS. ACTUALLY THE THIRD IF YOU COUNT THE MINIATURE FALLS.
OK YOU HAVE SEEN THE THREE DIFFERENT WATERFALLS AND OF COURSE THE STREAM. LET’S TAKE A LOOK AT THE “NATURAL BRIDGES” TO CROSS THE MEANDERING STREAM.
OR IF YOU ARE LIKE ME ONE CAN JUST FIND A PLACE TO STEP ACROSS.
NOW FOR SOME SCENERY AND PERSPECTIVE
IF I HAD BEEN HERE MUCH EARLIER IN MY LIFE I MIGHT HAVE CARVED MY NAME INTO THE BLACKHAND SANDSTONE.
APRIL 27TH 1924. I WASN’T EVEN BORN YET. I WISH I HAD MY “FLYING BICYCLE” TO GET OUT OF HERE.
AS ALWAYS, “THANKS FOR STOPPING BY.” TO EXPLORE MORE OF OUR WONDERFUL WORLD VISIT THAT'S MY WORLD TUESDAY

Joe: Glad to see all the changes in Ohio on my return. What a neat park to explore.
What a great park, Joe! And what a great place to spend a day exploring! Your photos are terrific as always! Thanks for sharing the fun. Have a good week!

Oh what a delightful little waterfalls. I would love to see that someday.
Okay, you got my hiking legs itching to go back to the mountains, Joe. Beautiful, beautiful pictures! Thanks so much for sharing this with us!
God bless!!
Well Joe that is another new location on me. Never heard of it. It looks rugged and beautiful but I just do not bounce like I use to and it has been years since I crossed a bridge like that. LOL! Probably the last log I walked on or stood on was when we were kids fishing. I started back off of the log to go get something and there was the biggest snake blocking my path.(Well when your little they all look big) I started screaming and Dad had to come running to get me off of the log. LOL!
My short legs would not make it up those fancy steps.LOL! I have to practically crawl off of some of the ones a Conkles Hollow. So I am glad you braved it out and show the pictures.
great adventure!
Lovely place -- and isn't it fun to find someplace right near home that you haven't seen before? this looks like one to go back to again! Thanks for sharing.
Looks like some of the hikes George and I have made--in search of waterfalls..... Steps???? What steps???? ha ha ha.... Funny that there was a sign saying "No Rock Climbing".... Duh---- how else can you get down there??????
Great little waterfalls ---especially the last one. Looks like a neat place ---and one we'd LOVE to visit.
Thanks!!!
Betsy
Most interesting scenery. Trees, rocks and waterfalls it looks all so peaceful to me.
I'm with you Joe - no way I'd use those bridges!
Looks like it was a great hike. Beautiful scenery. Glad you made it out without an incident!
