MINI AIR SHOW AT THE FAIRFIELD COUNTY AIRPORT NEAR LANCASTER,OHIO 5/15/2010
WELL IT IS SATURDAY AND AFTER PLAYING A ROUND OF GOLF AT PINE HILL GOLF COURSE NEAR CARROLL,OHIO I STOPPED BY:
TO TAKE IN THE MINI AIRSHOW. BY THE WAY Carburetor heat is an anti-icing system that preheats the air before it reaches the carburetor piston in powered light aircraft engines to prevent or clear carburetor icing. It consists of a moveable flap which draws hot air into the engine intake.

NO THAT ISN’T ME DOING THE SKYDIVING BUT IT IS LINDA PLANTING FLOWERS AND WORKING IN THE GARDEN. MAYBE I SHOULD HAVE JUST COME STRAIGHT HOME TO HELP HER, BUT THEN WHAT WOULD I HAVE POSTED FOR SCENIC SUNDAY
I’M OUTSTANDING IN MY FIELD. THIS PICTURE PROVES IT. AT ANY RATE THANKS FOR STOPPING BY.
This was a unique post. I really enjoyed reading this today. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI did not know Lancaster had an Air Show. I have been to Rickenbacker and Dayton Air Shows a few times year ago. I like those old Army cars and jeeps. How cool is that Tiger Airplane though. You are playing at the airshow and Linda is busy planting pretty geraniums. See how you are LOL!
ReplyDeleteThat one little thing is pretty minimal, isn't it??? Nothin' but wings and a windshield!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to follow Linda's lead and start putting colorful things in the ground . . . it's still a couple weeks away for us here.
Forget the golf, Joe... Take me to the Air Show anytime. I'd love seeing all of those planes. You got some great pictures...
ReplyDeletePoor Linda---slaving at home while hubby was out playing!!!! Are you sure that wasn't you skydiving??? ha ha
Have a great Sunday...
Betsy
go make Linda a cup of tea and promise to take her to the next air show.
ReplyDeleteMy brother is an avid airplane hobbyist, flying expensive model airplanes at every opportunity -- he even does reviews for one of the magazines. He would have loved this air show and all those cool airplanes!! He lives in Petaluma, CA. Lucky dog. :)
ReplyDeleteIf you had gone home instead of to the air show, then you would have posted pics of all of Linda's beautiful flowers. Right?!
I take it you must be past the possibility of frost if Linda is planting flowers...
Hope there is no more frost. Ended up working in the garden the rest of the day. 30 tomato plants in 30 more to go LOL.
ReplyDeleteAs a new pilot, I did two emergency landings in one day because I didn't recognize that the problem was caused by ice in the carb.
ReplyDeleteSnow, I never had to make an emergency landing but one day early in training the instructor pulled power and simulated an emergency. He had put us right over a grass strip and I was dumb/lucky enough to pick that field out to land in. ended up doing a touch/go
ReplyDeleteI don't get on with planes unless they stay on the ground
