THIS SUNDAY IS GENTLE ON MY MIND CAUSE I KEPT A SMILIN’

EXPLORING THE BACKROADS AND THE RIVERS OF MY MIND FOR SPIRITUAL SCENIC SHADOW SHOT SUNDAY SPIRITSCENICSHADOWLOGO

“It's knowing that your door is always open
And your path is free to walk
That makes me tend to leave my sleeping bag
Rolled up and stashed behind your couch
And it's knowing I'm not shackled
By forgotten words and bonds
And the ink stains that have dried upon some line
That keeps you in the backroads
By the rivers of my mem'ry
That keeps you ever gentle on my mind”

“It's not clinging to the rocks and ivy
Planted on their columns now that binds me
Or something that somebody said
Because they thought we fit together walking
It's just knowing that the world will not be cursing
Or forgiving when I walk along some railroad track and find
That you are moving on the backroads
By the rivers of my mem'ry
And for hours you're just gentle on my mind”

“Though the wheat fields and the clothes lines
And the junkyards and the highways come between us
And some other woman crying to her mother
'Cause she turned and I was gone
I still might run in silence tears of joy might stain my face
And the summer sun might burn me 'til I'm blind
But not to where I cannot see you walkin' on the backroads
By the rivers flowing gentle on my mind”

“dip my cup of soup back from the gurglin'
Cracklin' caldron in some train yard
My beard a roughning coal pile and
A dirty hat pulled low across my face
Through cupped hands 'round a tin can
I pretend I hold you to my breast and find
That you're waving from the backroads
By the rivers of my mem'ry
Ever smilin' ever gentle on my mind”

THE DAY STARTED WITH A BEAUTIFUL RED SUNRISE AND ENDED WITH A MASSIVE CLOUD BANK ROLLING IN.

JOE TODD TODAY I KIND’A FELT LIKE THE FIRST PHOTO IN THIS POST LOOKS (MAYBE A LITTLE CONFUSED). AS THE HOURS PAST I JUST KEPT A SMILIN AND PRETTY SOON I WAS FEELING GENTLE ON MY MIND. THANKS FOR STOPPING BY, AND THANK YOU MR. GLEN CAMPBELL FOR A GREAT SONG. P.S. I THINK MOST OF THE SHADOWS WERE IN MY MIND LOL

What a fun post to read. You really engaged my attention.
So nice to find God in nature and a way to relax. And reminiscing with Glen Campbell isn't bad either!

  6. Thank you for this reminder of how much I enjoy trains. We've had some great trips, Hubby and I, by train and I'm listening and remembering. Good times, need to do it again.

Gorgeous sunrise picture! I haven't heard that song in a long time. I think it is going to be playing in my head throughout the day, which isn't a bad thing.

  13. Guess the "Red sky in morning, sailors take warning, red sky at night, sailors' delight" is true. Actually I like the cloud bank rolling in the best of the photos.

And I didn't know Pike Place Market had a facebook page. Thanks!

  17. I so enjoyed your post today. This song is great! What a beautiful sunrise. I had 3 grandchildren over for the weekend, so not much time to read everyone's Spiritual Sunday post until today.
I hope you have a wonderful day,
    Ginger
