WOLF CREEK WILDLIFE AREA IN MORGAN COUNTY OHIO FOR SKY WATCH FRIDAY/SCENIC SUNDAY

 VISIT SKYWATCH FRIDAY TO VIEW SOME GREAT SKIES FROM AROUND THE WORLD AND SCENIC SUNDAY FOR SOME GREAT SCENES. TODAY A QUICK VISIT TO S.E. OHIO MORGAN COUNTY. THE PURPOSE OF THE VISIT IS TO CHECK OUT SAN TOY A GHOST MINING TOWN FROM A BYGONE ERA BUT THAT WILL BE ANOTHER POST.

I TALKED TO KEN RICHEY AT THE REGIONAL FIELD OFFICE AND HE TOLD ME THEY WERE IN THE PROCESS OF PUTTING IN AN ARCHERY RANGE TO COMPLEMENT THE SHOOTING RANGE THAT IS JUST UP THE ROAD.

THE ONLY AMMENITIES AT THIS PRIMITIVE CAMPING AREA; A COUPLE PORTA-POTTIES. AT THE TIME THERE WER ONLY A COUPLE CAMPERS. I’M SURE MORE WILL BE COMING IN FOR THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND. AN UPCOMING POST WILL FEATURE SAN TOY THE MINING GHOST TOWN. HEAR IS A PREVIEW PHOTO:

  6. Looks like a great area to visit, Joe... Did you go into the wildlife area???? Bet there are some great BIRDS there--along with lots of other interesting wildlife.

  14. That's a beautiful place to wander around...an archery range...how cool is that! Hopefully, they'll put it in. I wonder if this place is full of mosquitos in the evening...it just looks to perfect that it has to have one drawback!
