A SKY WATCH FRIDAY POST JUST A LITTLE THUNDERSTORM IN LANCASTER,OHIO
Thunderstorms result from the rapid upward movement of warm, moist air. They can occur inside warm, moist air masses and at fronts.
Fronts are zones of transition between two different air masses.
JOE TODD REPORTING FROM MY BACKYARD IN LANCASTER,OHIO.
Those clouds do look threatening! Tornadoes are one I don't miss about growing up in Texas! Terrific captures as always, Joe! Hope you and your family have a great weekend!

just make sure you keep them over there :)
ReplyDeleteBoy Joe it got a little scary here last night. I was sacred for once. A big locust tree toppled down in the yard just missing my garden shed and limbs and sticks, leaves everywhere. Now the cleanup begins today.
ReplyDeleteScary clouds for Skywatch.
Great pictures of the front! There were some tornado warnings in our area too, but thankfully nothing touched down.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture, Joe. We almost never get tornadoes here in Oregon, and the ones that are spotted never amount to anything. I sure don't miss them.
ReplyDeleteAhhh now you're talking my language Joe, we were in our shelter just last week! These are great pictures, really ominous.
ReplyDeleteAs to me or Oz Girl, I think this year she has had the worst of it, but neither of us compare to OKC!
Very ominous looking & incredibly cool shots!!! I love it when the sky gets like that

ReplyDeleteWow that is too dark cloud and seems like it would pour a lot of rain. Happy weekend!

good shots of a scary event...I am very familiar with those things as I have been in two tornados and two hurricaines..I don't miss either one now that I live in the NC Mountains...we don't get either of those here but do get some very severe thunderstorms at times.
ReplyDeleteJoe: What a scary sky, we got that storm after dark.
ReplyDeleteCool clouds looking very dark and even menacing. but still cool. MB
ReplyDeleteBeautiful captures of a very chaotic sky....hope nothing came of it!? Thanks for sharing.
