Leaving Lancaster,Ohio we had an adventure within an adventure. The Wellsville Balloon Rally… Enjoy:::::::::::: When I saw the balloons I immediately thought of SkyWatch Friday.
We left Lancaster,Ohio on July 15th 2011 heading for the 1000 Islands region of upper New York, specifically Black Lake. See photo below. We stopped Friday night in Wellsville N.Y. and when we woke up on Sat morning we saw::::
Saturday morning found us at the C. & G. Bed and Breakfast sitting on the patio having coffee and we looked up at the sky. Patio photo below::
Before there was a balloon rally, the only aviation activity was an annual Fly-In Breakfast sponsored by the Wellsville Aviation Club. READ MORE HISTORY
The folks in the balloon asked us if we were enjoying our coffee. LOL
A quick 55 second YouTube::
Thanks for stopping by. Continue the adventure by checking out SkyWatch Friday
Also, in the 1000 islands region of N.Y. you will find??????
Everywhere I looked I saw something to make me smile. There's just something so exhilerating about watching a balloon, of any size, soar.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the beauty!
Fabulous Fun!

Not a bad life ..:-)
ReplyDeleteWe had a similar incident: a balloon in a race just clipped a tree over our patio. One of them leant over the basket and shouted:
"Where are we?"
I had been waiting for this moment all my life, and shouted back:
"You're up in a balloon".
Sorry, you should have been there :-)
Gorgeous skies! Watching the balloon must have been fun. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy sky watching.

Ah, Joe, I've only seen one balloon festival--in Fresno--but I sure did enjoy it. Those things are certainly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhen they asked if you were enjoying your coffee, you should have said you would be enjoying it more if they would let you drink it in their company up in the air.
These are terrific, Joe! I do love the balloons! Flying in one of them several years ago was such fun!! The first shot is breathtaking! The path of light across the water is awesome! Hope you have a great weekend!

Great post and photos, Joe! I love the hot air balloons and the video. The 1000 Islands is a great place to vacation. Have fun and happy skywatching!
ReplyDeleteStunning balloon and sky pictures Joe. That must have been funny carrying on a conversation with the balloonists -- adds a little something different to the morning coffee!
ReplyDeleteMy question is: did the balloon come down IN the tree or on the other side of the tree? When my husband and I went up in one for his 50th birthday we came too close for comfort to a power line...a bit scary. Will not take a return flight with hat owner. Loved your pictures and the You Tube minute of fun. Have a nice weekend.. Genie
ReplyDeleteGreat shots--love that colorful balloon. Mickie :)
ReplyDeleteSo colorful! Love it :)

The balloon was just behind the one tree and they soon started to gain altitude
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had the best location to watch them. I love watching them but would be a chicken to ride in one.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great getaway Joe... love that pool patio. What an awesome place to sit and have morning coffee. :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Joe, Great pictures today of the colorful balloons --and that sunrise is awesome... Thanks for sharing.
