Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park:: A Photo Tour::

A one tank trip from Lancaster,Ohio to Parkersburg,W.V. and you are ready for a short boat ride back in time and a taste of history.A really great place to spend some “Quality Time.”

Parkersburg, located at the confluence of the Ohio and Little Kanawha Rivers, is the third largest city in the State of West Virginia..ALL ABOARD

Meet Captain Gary a man with thirty years experience in the industry. Gary spent many years in the Caribbean before returning home to the Midwest.

The Walnut Grove was planted in 1935. The trees today are worth several million dollars.

Aaron Burr, Jr. (February 6, 1756 – September 14, 1836) was the third Vice President of the United States under President Thomas Jefferson. Aaron Burr Jr. hatched his plan for western expansion at Blennerhassett Island.His activities eventually led to his arrest on charges of treason in 1807. Read about the TREASON TRIAL..

I enjoyed this fascinating tour! My favourite picture is the one of the maple grove, with such beautiful light and the play of shadows. Had to laugh at the scenery that couldn't be missed :)

Great WEST VIRGINIA history. I remembered Burr's duel with Hamilton but forgot the treason trial.
