First, a “must see” in Sedona:::::

Below the chapel you have a very large, 44,000 square foot house.
It pays to have numerous European and U. S. patents. For visitors take on Sedona::CLICK:: Next Oak Creek Canyon:: on 89 Alt.

State Rt. 89A descends a breathtaking series of switchbacks. Read More
The views are amazing, but there are also native Americans who set up tables with their jewelry creations…………
The Oak Creek Canyon-Sedona area is second only to Grand Canyon as the most popular tourist destination in Arizona.
Book your wedding now…LOL
We then drove through Flagstaff on our way to The Cameron Trading Post which we used as a base camp to explore the south rim of the Grand Canyon
We have been in the car for awhile and are glad to arrive at our destination…
Cameron Trading Post circa 1920..The Navajo name. for the Cameron Trading Post was Na’nI’A HasAnI (Old Bridge), It is located on US highway 89 54 miles north of Flagstaff in Coconino County, AZ, at the junction with the road to the east entrance of the Grand Canyon national park. READ MORE

A view of The Little Colorado River from our room and a sunset to.
This is Navajo Country..
The Little Colorado River is a river in the U.S. state of Arizona, providing the principal drainage from the Painted Desert region. Together with its major tributary, the Puerco River, it drains an area of about 26,500 square miles
This walking bridge over the river is not open to the public and is actually owned by a pipeline company. Are you hungry yet???
All the Navajo rugs in this photo cost more than my house……………At this restaurant I was introduced to Navajo Fry Bread. Indian fry bread is tradition to the Navajo, and comes with a story of great pain and suffering. READ MORE
The Gift Shop is huge::
Need a gag gift for your neighbor???
If your room has an interior view it would be of the gardens…
I’ll finish this post with one more photo of the river/bridge..
Thanks for stopping by. In doing this post I found several great links. If you are interested check them out.. Next time east entrance to the Grand Canyon and the South Rim.

ReplyDeleteWow Joe, what a fabulous trip you and Linda were able to enjoy. The cathedral looks amazing. Maybe one day I will get out that way. Welcome back home to some rain minus the storms this time around. LOL!
ReplyDeleteHi there, I enjoyed 're-living' your west trip since we took a similar trip a year ago...We decided after taking a June trip that we'd not do that again during the hot summer... SO--this year we're heading to Yellowstone and the Tetons in September. Hopefully it won't be quite as hot and not as many people around then!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSedona looks awesome... We need to go back to see that area... SO much to see there...
Great group of pictures and info. Thanks!
Betsy
We missed Sedona -- all those trips to this area and never been there --- ah well, just gotta' take another trip. (So many places.....

Joe--sorry I didn't get back to you right away. So glad you and Linda and back and it looks like you had a great trip! Hope someone watered your garden while you were away! I see you were able to meet Gaelyn (Geogypsy) at the Canyon and was happy to see that! I would love to meet her, but our upcoming trip won't take us to the North Rim. I love your new header picture. It's amazing! Love the photos of the trip and all the great information, too!
