Just down the road from our camp at the Jekyll Island Campground we found an amazing spot. Today we will take a “Quality Time” stroll along The Driftwood Beach of Jekyll Island. There are some neat sky photos so will link to Sky Watch Friday
Another beautiful morning on Jekyll Island and Linda has had her coffee. It is time to get off the bench and get a little exercise.Time to explore the Golden Isles of Georgia
“Located on the north end of Jekyll Island, Driftwood beach will amaze you with the beautiful driftwood and trees that resemble a tree graveyard.” LINK
The north end of the island is slowly eroding away and being deposited on the south end of the island.
Linda and I have been to many beaches, but none similar to this. The best time to explore the beach is at low tide, better to see the beach and all the shells and wildlife that go with it.
If you want a beautiful view without a crowd, this is the place to go.
Why don’t oysters give to charity?… Because they’re shellfish……. Where do shellfish go to borrow money?… The prawn broker……
A quiet, pristine beach.
Jekyll Island is a "one of a kind" place that is very unspoiled by neon signs and overpopulation.
From the beach you can see St. Simon's Island and the St. Simon Lighthouse.
What did the beach say to the wave?… “Long tide, no sea.”
This is a great beach to just “hang out.”
Look close.. How many people do you see in the photo? I would think the hammock would be more comfortable.
Some people get married on Driftwood Beach and some don’t though a lot of weddings do occur on Jekyll Island.
If you visit at dusk on a cloudy day as we did later in the week….it's like walking in a black and white film. Very cool…..
Meanwhile back at the bench
no time to sit because there is just tooooo much to explore .. Stay tuned for more posts about Jekyll Island and the Golden Isles
“Cool Person” at the beach says, “Thanks for stopping by My Quality Time.” You might enjoy a visit to The Georgia Sea Turtle Center..CLICK

ONE MORE::: A man was on a beach when he discovered an old lamp in the sand. He rubbed it and a genie popped out. The genie said "I will grant you three wishes. The only condition is that you cannot wish for more wishes." "Alright," said the man, "I wish for more genies."
