For a little wandering music…

With all the rain we have had there was a little

extra water going over the falls.

Wandering In The Hocking Hills Near Lancaster,Ohio

MQTlogoa For a Spiritual start to the day “The Stairs” by T.D. Garrison and a couple photos of mine taken in the Hocking Hills of Ohio.

DSC_0017

Oh long and dark the stairs I trod,
with stumbling feet to find my God,
Gaining a foothold bit by bit
Then slipping back and losing it.

DSC_0074

There came a certain time when I
Loosened my hold and fell thereby,
Down to the lowest step my fall
As if I had not climbed at all.

DSC_0071

And as I lay despairing there,
there came a footfall on the stairs
And 'lo' when hope had ceased to be
My God came down the stairs to me.

jtf1 Hope everyone has a great day. Linda and I certainly enjoyed hiking in The Hocking Hills of Ohio.

Just Love Wandering in the Smokey Mountains

MQTlogoa  At 6,643 feet, Clingmans Dome is Great Smoky Mountains National Park's highest point. It is the highest point in Tennessee, and the second highest point east of the Mississippi. Only North Carolina's Mt. Mitchell (6,684 feet) rises higher. READ MORE

DSC_0043 Linda and I were at the summit of Clingmans Dome on Easter 2015. A group of Christian Chinese from Atlanta sang “Glory To God” in Chinese on this beautiful day. (so says the ranger))

DSC_0068 A big “Shout Out”  to everyone from Joe Todd & Linda from the Summit of Clingmans Dome. ( Linda is so beautiful I try to keep her in the shadows so she doesn’t “steal the show” LOL)

Today was a clear day,but the ranger said,” The sky is battered by some kind of weather condition - rains and drizzles and nebulous fogs at least fifty percent of the time.

Maybe a Sky Watch Friday post or maybe not. I always feel a little bad if I don’t get around to other great skywatch posts to comment.
jtf1 Have a great day…..

She Failed The Test

MQTlogoa Take the Quality time Dementia test below and see how you do……

DSC_0154
Your Yearly
Dementia Test (only 4 questions this year) Yep, it's that
time of year again for us to take our annual senior citizen
test. Exercise of the
brain is as important as exercise of the muscles. As we grow older, it's
important to keep mentally alert. If you don't use it, you lose
it! Here is a very
private way to gauge how your memory compares to your last test. Some may think it
is too easy, but the ones with memory problems may have
difficulty. Take this test to
determine if you're losing it or not. The spaces below
are so you don't see the answers until you've made your answer. OK, relax, clear
your mind and begin. #1. What do you
put in a toaster ?

            Answer: 'bread.'
If you said 'toast', just give up now and go do something else. And, try not to
hurt yourself. If you said,
bread, go to Question #2.

# 2. Say 'silk'
five times. Now spell 'silk.' What do cows drink ?

                Answer: Cows
drink water. If you said 'milk,' don't attempt the next
question. Your brain is
already over-stressed and may even overheat. Content yourself with
reading more appropriate literature such as Women's Weekly or Auto World. However, if you
did say 'water', proceed to Question #3.

  # 3. If a red
house is made from red bricks and a blue house is made from blue bricks and
a pink house is made from pink bricks and a black house is made from black
bricks, what is a green house made from ?

              Answer:
Greenhouses are made from glass. If you said
'green bricks', why are you still reading this ??? PLEASE, go lie
down!!! But, if you said
'glass,' go on to Question #4.

    # 4. Do not use a
calculator for this: You are driving a
bus from New York City to Philadelphia. In Staten Island,
17 people got on the bus. In New Brunswick,
6 people get off the bus and 9 people get on. In Windsor, 2
people get off and 4 get on. In Trenton, 11
people get off and 16 people get on. In Bristol, 3
people get off and 5 people get on. And, in Camden, 6
people get off and 3 get on. You then arrive
at Philadelphia Station. Without going
back to review, how old is the bus driver ?

Answer: Oh, for crying out loud ! Don't you
remember your own age?!?! It was YOU driving the bus! DSC_0047DSC_0046 DSC_0056DSC_0049DSC_0054 Please Go Quietly…Thank You…… Can anyone guess where the photos are from????

It’s a Piece of Paper & So Much More

MQTlogoa PAPER,FOLD,PAPER,FOLD,PAPER,FOLD,HOPE YOU DON’T GET A PAPER CUT………….

Creation out of nothing. I often say that origami is as close as you can get to that. It's a piece of paper. Beyond that, you don't need anything else. — Joseph Wu

Linda and I recently visited the Franklin Park Conservatory (SUMMER 2016) . We would like to share with you one of their exhibits.

“I place an ordinary piece of square origami paper before me. What do I see? At one level I see no more than a piece of paper, a thin compression of plant fibres. But what else do I see? I see the square of paper twisting and turning itself until the semblance of a bird emerges from the paper to stand before me. And then the bird dissolves again and I am left with my original sheet of paper, now seemingly imprinted with crease lines which form a curious geometrical pattern. Is the bird or its form still residing there in the paper? Was it there before the paper took the shape of the bird? Did it exist as a Platonic Idea? Or do these ideas exist only in my own mind? But surely I did not invent the mathematical patterns. Where did they come from if not from God?” READ MORE

“Have you heard the one about the origami enthusiast who folded and wore a cowboy outfit - an origami stetson, origami shirt and waistcoat, origami pistols, plus origami trousers and boots?
He was arrested for rustling!!”

DSC_0002DSC_0006

“So, once more, I look at the plain square of paper in front of me. And I find that it is no longer a mere piece of paper. I find that it has is a magic casement through which I can gaze at enchanted landscapes and pass to worlds of a higher experience and spirituality.” David Lister on the British Origami society website

On a personal note I would like to mention about the only thing I can fold is a paper airplane.. Back in the “day” I even got a detention for it….

DSC_0013DSC_0014DSC_0011 “Did you hear about the Origami Business? It folded...”
