CHANGE THE WORLD WEDNESDAY TIME TO START COMPOSTING

COMPOST

You can add finished compost to your garden about 2-4 weeks before you plant.

Almost anything  that was living at one time is great for compost bins (think plant life not animal) No fats, pet droppings etc.

Think sun for that compost bin 120 and 160 degrees is best

Grass clippings for nitrogen and straw for carbon.

Coffee grounds and worms go together plus all those vegetable table scraps

Paper sure but shred it first.

Think in 3’s  3ftx3ftx3ft size wise and turn every couple weeks to aerate your pile.

A FEW FACTS ABOUT WATER SINCE THIS IS WATERY WEDNESDAY.

1. Aristotle noted that a glass of hot water will freeze before a glass of cold water.

2.Water needs nucleation to freeze. At  below -135 °C, it becomes "glassy water," a solid with no crystal structure.

FRENCH RIVER,Rivière des Français' ONTARIO,CANADA THE PERFECT GETAWAY

100_2666

100_2667

A river in Central Ontario, Canada. It flows 110 kilometers (68 mi) from Lake Nipissing west to Georgian Bay

FRENCHRIVERMAP

The River flows through typical Canadian Shield country, in many places exposing rugged glaciated rock.

I have driven over the French River on Hwy 69 probably a hundred times and now I know what things look like from a river perspective.

Highway bridge,The green pedestrian bridge in background, and lastly the railroad bridge. I can hear the sound of a train in the distance.

We stayed at a Ridgewood Cottage which is located on Dry Pine Bay one of the first bays east of Hwy 69.

The Ojibwa named this the "French River" because it became associated with French explorers of the 17th century.

Yes we did catch some fish:

Linda got tired shopping and thought she would go for a bike ride. She found out the bikes brakes didn’t work. (She could have ended up in the lake)

100_2586 As for me I now have my very own ceramic inukhuk and he hangs out with Ted R. on my back deck. My inukhuk has been giving me some great stock picks. He hasn’t missed so far.
