On a cold blustery January day I had the opportunity to spend a couple hours touring the Jack Nicklaus Museum located in the heart of The Ohio State University sports complex in Jack's hometown of Columbus, Ohio.

The museum is a 24,000 square-foot educational and historical facility.

This statue was commissioned by Golf Magazine to honor Jack Nicklaus as golfer of the century, 1888—1988……

and the tour begins.With The Legends of Golf….

Nicklaus was born in the Columbus, Ohio , the son of pharmacist Charlie Nicklaus (who ran several sites named Nicklaus Drug Store) and his wife Helen.. Jack Nicklaus is a “family man” whether as a son,husband,or father.

  There are video screens in many of the “rooms” of the museum. This is a screen shot from one of them.

Unlike the other major championships, the Masters is held each year at the same location, Augusta National Golf Club

The PGA Championship (sometimes, especially outside of the United States referred to as the U.S. PGA Championship or U.S. PGA) is an annual golf tournament conducted by the Professional Golfers Association of America. It is one of the four major championships in professional golf.

F.Y.I.:: The U.S. Open scheduled so, if there are no weather delays, the final round is played on the third Sunday of June, which is Father's Day.

Golf course design:: Nicklaus is in partnership with his four sons and his son-in-law through their company, Nicklaus Design. The company had 299 courses open for play at the end of 2005, which was nearly 1% of all the courses in the world .. WIKI

The tour of the museum ends with an 18 minute presentation in the theater (narrated by Sean Connery). I found the presentation enjoyable as I did the other presentations in the different rooms.

"The Golden Bear" Jack was raised in Upper Arlington, and attended Upper Arlington High School, whose nickname and mascot are called the Golden Bears.

  After a basketball game, the coach found a cell phone on the gym floor.  He picked it up and handed it to one of the referees, saying, "Here's your phone."

Some people are like Slinkies ... not really good for anything, but you can't help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs.

To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism. To steal from many is research.

The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But it's still on the list.

 I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

  I drove up to the one stoplight in a nearby town today and saw the entire police force (2?) with lights flashing, I studied the scene. On one side of the street, men are throwing straps over a semi load of hay. Further down 3 men are rolling one huge bale of hay down the street. "Wow!"  "I'm glad I quit drinking. Look at the tests they're giving now."

Beans Toot Early and Toot Often.

Something a little different for this post. This receipt came from a fellow we called “Bake Bean John.” Every time we would meet in church basements for anniversary meetings  or whatever John brought his “famous” beans. (and are they good)…
